Synopsis

Six inmates serving extended sentences join a trial dance rehabilitation program in prison. Upon their release, they discover that the "rhythm of freedom" is harder to find than the "rhythm of incarceration".

Director Bio

Indrani Kopal, a BMW Shorties 2019 judge, is an award-winning filmmaker. She's also the founder and director of Far East Documentary Center, a biography film project in Malaysia. Her short documentary, 'The Game Changer' won the best documentary award at the 2014 Harlem International Film Festival and at the American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase 2015 in Cannes, France.

Indrani is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Documentary Film from Hofstra University. She is currently in post-production of 'Phos Graphis: Ismail Hashim', a feature length documentary about the acclaimed Malaysian photographer, Ismail Hashim.
